Current F1 motorsport chief Ross Brawn suggests Sebastian Vettel now has the edge over title rival Lewis Hamilton following the British Grand Prix. Brawn, a former Ferrari man, believes Vettel will take a psychological boost as the F1 circus heads to his home country.
The German now has an eight-point lead over Lewis Hamilton in the drivers' championship. Ferrari extended their lead over Mercedes to 20 points as the season heads towards the halfway mark.
In an interview on GPfans, Ross Brawn explains why he believes Vettel is the stronger man heading into the rest of the season.
"This was Sebastian's 51st Formula 1 win, putting him joint third with Alain Prost on the list of most successful drivers in F1.
"It cannot be seen as a turning point in the championship, given that his eight-point lead is small when there's still half a season to go, but it was definitely a significant result, both technically and psychologically, as we head towards the Ferrari man's home race in Germany."

Some drivers and team members including Christian Horner believe Ferrari have the car with the better engine. But Brawn only claimed the Italians have matched the Germans.
He also tells the fans to keep a close eye on the sport as the season starts to reach boiling point.
"Ferrari showed that it had matched Mercedes in terms of development and in its ability to make the most of its technical package," he added.
"It augurs well for an even more exciting second part of the season, a taste of which we got in the closing laps of the race at Silverstone."
