Daniel Ricciardo has said that would he have been in Valtteri Bottas' situation last weekend, he would've made a move on Sebastian Vettel for the win.
Bottas caught up with Vettel a few laps before the finish on way fresher tyres, as he was driving two seconds faster than Vettel, but failed to overtake the German, who saw out the race and made it two wins out of two.
Ricciardo, known for his ability to overtake, was forced to retire from the race after two laps, as he lost power in his car. He watched the rest of the race from his room and now said that he would've "at least tried" to make a move.
"I would have tried to win, definitely," he told Autosport.
"I was watching and [was] like 'Make a move! Go, go, go, go!'
"Maybe in Valtteri's head, he thought 'I'll get him in Turn 4' but for me the first opportunity you have to take.
"If it's for a win, you just can't [settle].
"If you locked up and went wide, you're still finishing second."
Paul di Resta also criticized Bottas for his lack of aggressiveness, and Ricciardo too brings out the argument that Bottas didn't have much to lose, as Lewis Hamilton was far behind in third place, which meant that should an overtake go wrong, he still would've gotten second place
