Ricciardo on unpredictability: 'I know others went longer'

Daniel Ricciardo failed to secure points for his team at the Turkish Grand Prix. The Australian reached thirteenth place and was probably most disappointed with that himself.
With his victory in the Italian GP and fourth place in the Russian GP Ricciardo seemed to be on the rise, but in Turkey, he was unable to reach his level. Partly due to the poor weather conditions, he was unable to get the car to where he wanted it to be.

Disappointing race from Ricciardo

Ricciardo sees the situation clearly in hindsight. "Obviously, we were fighting for the points and that strategy was our best chance, but it was just really unpredictable," he told Sky Sports. "I know others went longer, with one going the entire race on one set, but at the end, I saw my tyres and they were on their last legs."
The Australian hoped he would see improvement. "I got a bit excited because I thought maybe it will just keep getting better and better, but it lasted four laps and then the rear dropped away again, so the last ten laps were a bit painful, just trying to hang on."
