For days there have been rumours that Michael Masi is going to be pushed aside after the incident-rich race in Abu Dhabi. Rumours that seem to get stronger by the hour. Apparently, the FIA is so shocked by this that the motorsport federation has decided to send a remarkable statement into the world.

Statement

Via a short message on Twitter, the FIA writes: "At this stage, no decision has been taken on the outcome of the detailed analysis currently underway into the events of the last Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. As previously announced, the findings of this detailed analysis will be presented at the F1 Commission meetin in London on 14th Februari after an open discussion with all F1 drivers and then finally have to be approved at the World Motorsport Council meeting on 18th March in Bahrain, under the authority of FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem."

It is not often that the FIA chooses to respond to a rumor. All the more remarkable that it does so now.
