the two deciding factors in the Dutchman's decision: Which team has the best material, and which team has inner peace.
As this website wrote, the former F1 driver believes the four-time world champion would like to remain with the Austrian team.
"Max, he loves the team because he knows that everything he made was from Red Bull and given by Dietrich Mateschitz at the time," the German began on Smile 90.4FM.
Moreover, he believes the damage caused by Horner's decision will take some time to be repaired.
"So he would love to stay. But looking at the team now, a lot of good people have left. The results are very bad. So to turn that around will, in my opinion, take at least three years. At least. And I'm not sure if Max is going to be as patient. So if you ask me, I think Max would love to stay. But his management, his father, they will make sure he will leave," the former driver continued.
'Contract talks begin with Mercedes now' says Schumacher
The former Toyota and Williams driver now sees that talks between the two parties began as well.
"I think, like yesterday, because there were some issues with Mercedes and obviously the budget and everything, because Max is certainly asking for a reasonable amount of money. But there was the green light from the board yesterday. So I think they start now," he concluded.
