'Red Bull Racing should already begin focusing on its 2027 F1 car'

While Max Verstappen would undoubtedly like to see changes made to the RB22 as soon as possible, given his ongoing criticism of Red Bull's current car, Mekies pointed out that the team will eventually have to shift its focus to the 2027 challenger as well.

Answering GPblog's question at the Hungaroring, the Frenchman said: "At some stage we'll need to make a call on the balance between this year and next year. And I expect that to happen earlier than what we have done last year, especially as the regulations are how they are. So we will decide."

He added: "As far as we are concerned, we have brought a huge amount of development to the car between race one and here in order to try to correct as soon as possible the large deficit we had initially.
