Red Bull giving Albon as much time as possible to prove himself

Alexander Albon's position has been under pressure for much of this season. The chances of him driving for Red Bull Racing next year seem to be getting smaller and smaller, but team boss Christian Horner wants to give him as much time as possible to prove himself.

"All the seats are taken for next year so there are no other options. That gives us more time, and gives Alex more time, just to see him hopefully lay claim to that seat," said Horner in conversation with Sky Sports F1.

According to him, they are doing everything in the team to make Albon as good as possible, because they know that the Thai has to be able to perform well. They saw that in Mugello, where he managed to get his first podium. To give him that time, Albon will in any case finish the season, but Red Bull still have Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg in mind.
