For Carlos Sainz, the Austrian Grand Prix was one to forget. The Spaniard was eliminated before the session even began.
To begin with, the Williams driver could not get off the line. Over the team radio, he said: "The car's stuck in first gear." He then added, "Something is stopping the car from moving forward."
After he was pushed by the marshals, Sainz could begin a lap. By that time, the race start was aborted, and it also meant that Sainz would have needed to start today's Grand Prix from the pit lane, after he qualified in P19 on Saturday.

'Game over' for Sainz at the Red Bull Ring

However, as he lined up at the pit lane exit, Sainz's brakes caught fire. "Something is stopping the car from moving forward," he commented. He was then told over the team radio it's 'game over'.
