The previous season, the four-time world champion and Lando Norris battled for the victory until they made contact. While the Briton will start from pole position, the Indian does not expect that to be repeated.
"I don't think Red Bull have as fast a car here as last year, when he was fighting Lando for the win and it ended controversially, but he's going to be in the fight for the final place of the podium," he continued.
Starting behind the two McLarens, Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, Chandhok also believes the most successful F1 driver at the Red Bull Ring will battle the latter three.
"He's going to be fighting the Ferraris, the Mercedes, but he's tarting out of position because he didn't do that last lap. The overtaking opportunities are here with three DRS zones, so Max can come through and you can never discount him," he concluded.
