The Portuguese Grand Prix will return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2027. The event will replace the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, GPblog understands. Today, Formula 1 has announced the return of the
Portuguese Grand Prix to the calendar. A two-year deal has been signed for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, with Formula 1 returning to the Portimão circuit for the first time since 2021.
This website understands that the Portuguese Grand Prix is the replacement for the Dutch Grand Prix, as Zandvoort's contract ends after the 2026 season, and therefore, the weekend at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve will not be the track rotating with the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, which will be announced in due course.

23 circuits signed for 2027
With the addition of
Portimao, there are now 23 guaranteed circuits on the calendar for 2027.
F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali has previously underlined on multiple occasions that 24 is the maximum number of races per season.
Aside from Zandvoort, only one Grand Prix on the 2026 calendar is yet to have a contract for 2027: the re-named Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix hosted in Montmeló.
