The new British GB4 class announces on own website that the prize for the most pole positions in a season will be called the'George Russell Pole Position Cup'. Russell himself says he is looking forward to congratulating the winner of the cup at the end of the season.

Huge honor for Russell

Russell won British Formula 4 himself at the age of 16 and the cup for most pole positions in 2014. In 2016, British Formula 4 changed to British Formula 3 and today it is called GB3. In 2022, a feeder series will be added in Britain which will be called GB4 and all drivers will drive a Formula 4 chassis.
So from 2022, the driver with the most pole positions in the GB4 championship will win the 'George Russell Pole Position Cup'. A huge honor according to Russell, who himself says that winning the British Formula 4 in 2014 was very important for his career.

"Winning the BRDC F4 Championship in 2014 was pivotal for my career, I don’t think I’d be where I am today without it, and I’m sure that GB4 will provide the same opportunities I received back then," Russell responded. The driver is looking forward to handing over the trophy bearing his name to the winning driver at the end of 2022.
