Piastri grateful to McLaren: 'Looking forward to working hard with Norris'

McLaren has trumped Alpine in the battle for the services of Oscar Piastri. The Australian was given the green light by the CRB to race for the Woking-based team in 2023.

Piastri revealed in a statement from his new team that he is delighted to be working at the team. "I’m extremely excited to be making my F1 debut with such a prestigious team as McLaren and I’m very grateful for the opportunity that’s been offered to me," he said.

"The team has a long tradition of giving young talent a chance, and I’m looking forward to working hard alongside Lando to push the team towards the front of the grid," concludes the 2021 F2 champion.
