Despite McLaren's rivals like Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull not being in contention for the win, both papaya drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris gave fans much excitement throughout the Austrian Grand Prix.
Speaking after the race to media including GPblog, Piastri looked back on the battle with his teammate.
"I mean, again, there have been a few battles in the past, not just last week, but last year and the year before. So, I think we both knew what to expect," said the Aussie driver looking back on the long history of wheel-to-wheel racing he and his teammate have undergone.

Austrian GP McLaren battle gets heated

"It was a tough battle. It was close at some points, probably pushing the limits a bit much from my side once or twice. But we're fighting for race wins in Formula 1. It's going to be pretty tough work and pretty hard," said a resolute Piastri who begs no forgiveness for how hard he raced his McLaren teammate Norris.
"I thought it was an entertaining race. After the first stop, maybe we didn't do the right thing giving Lando some breathing room, but the first 20 laps were pretty intense. So, it was a good battle."
The title fight between Piastri and Norrris got closer as the Briton took 7 points off his teammate's lead in the standings. Max Verstappen on the other hand has seemingly fallen out of contention as with his DNF the gap to Piastri grew to 61 points.
