Cadillac chief speaks on return for Sergio Perez
Earlier, Cadillac team principal Graeme
Lowdon weighed in on the return of Sergio Perez to Formula 1. The British motorsport chief stressed that the American outfit has prepared a carefully worked-out schedule to get the Mexican driver up to speed.
Lowdon also hinted that the team plans for Perez to take part in some karting before moving on to the simulator ahead of his return to actual Formula 1 machinery. Unlike Valtteri Bottas, Perez has yet to drive an
F1 car since his last outing with Red Bull at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The six-time Grand Prix winner is, however, expected to hit the track in a Scuderia Ferrari car when the Cadillac team begins its testing programme ahead of the unveiling of its 2026 challenger.
