Norris handed key secret to beating Piastri in F1 title showdown

David Brabham has handed Lando Norris crucial advice amid his intra-team battle with Oscar Piastri. The British driver is currently locked in the 2025 title fight with the Australian.

Brabham, who spoke in an interview via RacingNews365, stressed the need for Norris to focus on beating Piastri on track rather than getting involved in the mind games with the championship leader. The former Formula 1 driver also detailed that the crash for Piastri at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has shown he is also capable of cracking under pressure.

"I'm not sure about [Lando] using it against [Oscar], because he can't control it. But it was a big shock for a lot of people to see Oscar making mistakes like that, and I would imagine it will give Lando hope that there is pressure building and that he's cracked it.”

"Oscar has made mistakes now, it could be something which was needed, so now he's adjusted, refocused and is going to be stronger for the rest of the season. Lando has really just got to focus on himself and get the most out of it because that's the only way he is going to be able to beat Oscar.”

"Then, if he is doing a really good job, that puts more pressure on Oscar, and we saw [in Azerbaijan] that he can crack, so it is interesting."

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix witnessed Lando Norris leave with a bittersweet feeling following the race. While the McLaren driver scored points following his seventh-place finish at the Baku race, he could only gain six points on his championship rival, who crashed on the opening lap of the race.

Norris however, downplayed the results he recorded at the race, stressing he was still not capable of winning the race, largely due to the newfound pace of the Red Bull Racing outfit.
