Max Verstappen may be forced to start from the pit lane after Red Bull Racing’s mechanics reportedly worked beyond what's permitted at Interlagos. Footage on social media supposedly shows intense work being carried out on the Dutchman’s RB21, but it's yet to be verified. Qualifying for the Brazil Grand Prix went anything but smoothly for the Red Bull Racing team as both
Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda failed to get past Q1. The two drivers finished 16th and 19th, respectively.
After the Sprint, Red Bull made a radical change to Verstappen’s RB21. The Austrians essentially adapted Tsunoda’s setup to the Dutchman’s car.
After the session, in which Verstappen failed to progress beyond P16,
the driver commented:
"I can forget about [the title]. We are starting behind, so that's not going to work, and with this kind of performance, forget about it."Mekies hinted at a pit lane start
After the session, team boss Laurent Mekies and top advisor Helmut Marko both hinted at making adjustments to the RB21 ahead of the race, which would then result in a pit lane start.
