The story of
Zak Brown and his collection of race-winning tattoos continues to grow. After
Oscar Piastri's maiden win in
Formula 1 at the
Hungarian Grand Prix, it served as yet another opportunity for the
McLaren CEO to add to his two, one from
Daniel Ricciardo's win at the 2021
Italian Grand Prix, and one from
Lando Norris' win at the
Miami Grand Prix this season. But will he be adding another one? Piastri explained after speaking with Brown after his fantastic win.
No tattoo, but a papaya mohawk is being discussed
Team orders almost cost Piastri his first-ever
F1 win and
McLaren a 1-2 at the Hungaroring, but a dominant weekend for the papaya-coloured team saw Piastri drive a superb race, taking the lead from Norris in pole position at the first corner and lead for the majority of the race. It has led to speculation regarding CEO Brown and whether he will add a third track layout tattoo to his collection, alongside the Monza and Miami layouts already.
However, after speaking with Brown about his win, the Australian has some disappointing news for everyone: "It won't be a tattoo. He already made that one very clear," Piastri said, speaking to several media sources including GPblog. So a third tattoo is not in the offing, but something else even more shocking might be.
"We never actually shook on anything, but the last thing we discussed which got some traction was a papaya mohawk. So, I've reminded him of that, and let's see when it comes out," announced the Australian. So who knows? The paddock may be rocked by an orange mohawk from
Zak Brown in the future, perhaps.
