Mercedes faced a fine due to Antonelli's violation during FP2 in Austria this afternoon.
The amount of the fine probably won’t keep Mercedes up at night, as the Brackley team only has to pay 100 euros to the Formula 1 governing body. Antonelli entered the pit lane at a speed of 80.1 kilometres per hour. As is well known, 80 kilometres per hour is the maximum speed allowed, so the FIA issued a fine.
“Car 12 exceeded the pit lane speed limit, which is set at 80 km/h for this event, by 0.1 km/h,” the stewards wrote in the document from the FIA.
