Coming off of three victories in the last four Grands Prix, Lando Norris explained nothing is different regarding battling teammate Oscar Piastri.
Norris was victorious at the Hungaroring, after he ended up opting for a different strategy.
While championship leader Piastri was on a two-stop, the Briton completed a one-stopper, and crossed the finish line in first place, cutting the gap to his teammate in the standings.
The Briton explained 'nothing changed' regarding McLaren's approach over the summer break.
"Budapest was a bit of an outlier. You’d have to be pretty daft if I was to box after everyone else ahead of me had boxed – just to follow suit and do nothing different."

According to the McLaren driver, he made the decision not because he thought it could lead to claiming all 25 points, as his aim was to get ahead George Russell in the Mercedes.
"It was pretty amazing that it turned out that way (winning in Hungary, ed.) and it was a perfect result. I didn’t make that decision thinking, “OK, this is my race and I can try and win it now."
"Maybe it wasn’t a perfect harmonic race between us as a team because it didn’t fall exactly into the place with what we normally go by, but at the same time it’s an example of what can happen in racing sometimes," he shared his verdict.
Regarding the battle with Piastri, he added: "I think we both want, as drivers, things not to be overly strict. We don’t want to be told not to race. We’re here as individuals to race and prove who can do a better job. So of course there were discussions, there have been reviews – every race we make tweaks to things."

Norris says 'Constructors' Championship has priority'

Currently, nine points separate the two competitors in the Drivers' standings. On the other hand, the Briton named a different goal McLaren wants to achieve first.
"We have a good understanding as a team. That happened after Budapest. No major changes. But we still have a Constructors’ to win, and that’s the priority at this point."
