Lando Norris will start Saturday's sprint race at the Brazilian Grand Prix in fourth position. The British driver says he took full advantage of qualifying conditions and therefore expects the competition to hit back later in the weekend.
The Formula 1 teams faced wet conditions in qualifying. After George Russell's crash in Q3, race control decided not to allow any more DRS, making it impossible to improve one's own time. Norris thus grabbed the fourth starting position.

Norris expects no surprises on Sunday

Although the McLaren driver is content with his good starting position, he does not expect the front teams to hold on. According to Norris, the chances are that the top teams will fight their way back during the race on Sunday, meaning there will be no surprises on the podium.
"You’re going to see the Red Bulls coming back through, you’re going to see Ferrari coming back through a bit, Mercedes as well, so I think things will slowly return to normal," he revealed in conversation with Formula1.com. At the same time, he is proud to have come out on top in the difficult conditions. "I feel like I proved that."
