Lando Norris after being absent from FP1 managed to recover in FP2 in such form that it seemed as though he hadn't missed any on-track action.
For FP1 Formula 2 rookie and championship leader Alex Dunne took over Norris McLaren and placed P4.
Then it was Norris' turn aboard his MCL39 and proved to be on the pace throughout the session always managing to outpace teammate Oscar Piastri, something Sky Sports presenter did not expect.
"Hugely impressive," she said of Norris' performance during Sky Sport's broadcast of the session.
"To jump in and not only be close to the pace but to be a clear one-and-a-half tenths quicker than his team-mate around here is no small challenge."
Austria is known to be the shortest lap time-wise of all the calendar, so to have built a gap that big to his teammate is certainly eye-opening, notes the Sky Sports presenter.
"We talk a lot about how there are only seven proper corners, so that's a lot of time [between the McLarens]."

Can Norris capitalise on his good form?

It's no secret that Norris is a quick driver, but often times when under pressure this season he's not been able to perform. like in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Japan and Canada, to name but a few. Will he be able to turn the tables in Austria?
