Discussions surrounding a new Grand Prix weekend in Thailand continue to grow after brand-new circuit plans were released.
The Sport Authority of Thailand (SAT) released initial plans to host a Grand Prix in the nation's capital, Bangkok, opting for a street circuit design that has 18 corners across a 5.7km track
An initial five year contract between 2028 and 2032 is likely, according to the SAT, with the race weekend predicted to take place either in March or September if added to the calendar.

Williams driver and Thai national Alex Albon visited the government earlier in 2025 to assist the project as it aims to add itself to the growing number of street circuits in F1.
The Far East Asian country already hosts a MotoGP race at the Buriram circuit, having done so since 2018, but the proposed new track on the Bangkok streets looks to be the way forward.
It comes after the Miami and Las Vegas Grands Prix became two new street circuits that were added to the F1 calendar.

Plans for a Thai GP continue to ramp up

Since 2024, there have been several conversations between the Thai government and Forumula 1 about the potential to hist a race in the country's capital.
In March 2025, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali visited Thailand and spoke with Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, discussing "impressive" plans about the potential race weekend in Bangkok.
