Mercedes have announced the unveiling date for their 2020 challenger, the W11, as the German works team looks to extend its record of six straight double championships in the upcoming season.

Seven straight?

On the weekend Mercedes sealed the constructors' championship in 2019 in Japan, they also confirmed either one of their drivers would be the one winning the drivers' championship. This meant, for the sixth straight time, Mercedes won both championships, something which had never happened before in F1 history.
In 2020, the final year of the current era before the rules get a massive overhaul, the Silver Arrows are aiming to extend their record to seven straight double titles. In a video on their social media, in which you hear the new W11's engine howling, the team announced the reveal date to be on February 14th, the same day as AlphaTauri.
