McLaren has made changes to their organisational structure, meaning that former director Zak Brown will now be the head of 'McLaren Racing'.
Before these changes, the 'McLaren Group' consisted of two branches: McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Technology Group. The latter consisted of three divisions: McLaren Applied Technologies, McLaren Marketing and McLaren Racing – with the last one obviously being about racing activities.
Now, the whole McLaren Group will just have three branches: Applied Technologies, Automotive and Racing. Brown was made CEO of the latter, with the American being the technical director of the Technology Group before.
These changes were made with an eye on streamlining the whole structure. It's not known whether McLaren's crisis meeting last Saturday had anything to do with the drastic changes to the whole company.
What these changes will mean is that Brown will now be focussed on F1-activities more. Team boss Eric Boullier will still be team boss, but he still responds to Brown.
