McLaren are close to breaking point after yet another disappointing weekend, made even worse by ‘chocolate gate’ being uncovered on Friday. It’s reported that the whole team were part of a meeting in their motorhome.
Some staff maybe planning a revolt and a mass exodus is on the cards. McLaren have now failed to score since Spain and their main driver Fernando Alonso has retired in the last three races.
"I can't tell you exactly what was said, but there was a little word of encouragement for the whole team," Stoffel Vandoorne told RTBF Broadcaster.
"All the staff were there. It's difficult times for us, but everyone is pushing and we hope it gets better soon.”
Fernando Alonso was asked directly whether he’d prefer to be at home or at the back of the grid and he replied with a very firm answer.

"No, I prefer to be here. I am one of 20 drivers doing the best job in the world. It's true we have not been very competitive, but we are here working, doing something, trying," he told Spanish media.
McLaren seemingly improved in early parts of the season but have since gone backwards. They are stuck on 40 points in the constructors' championship as Renault move further ahead in 4th.
