Max Verstappen led the way on laps completed on Day 2 of the final week of winter testing in Bahrain, the four-time world champion was the sole Red Bull driver on track on Thursday, completing 138 laps in total.
The Dutchman impressed both in terms of mileage and pace, having finished P3 in the timing charts. Verstappen took the lead just 30 minutes into the afternoon session, but it was Kimi Antonelli that achieved the quickest time with a 1:32.803.
As for the teams overall, it was McLaren that just came out on top, the duo of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris completed 158 laps overall, beating engine supplier Mercedes by just two laps. The Aussie driver was the only driver to also dip under the 1:33 lap times with Antonelli, but appeared to suffer from drive problems as the race start procedure got underway in the final 10 minutes.
It was another miserable outing for Aston Martin as Fernando Alonso brought out the red flag in the early afternoon. The Spaniard completed just 68 laps for the Silverstone outfit, the lowest among the teams overall during Day 2.
