Frederic Vasseur has commented on the decision reached yesterday following the meeting in Bahrain between the FIA and the power unit manufacturers.
"We have to follow the process of the governance of the Formula 1. It's a shame, it's more on the delay and the timing than something else"

The Ferrari team principal said he remains confident in the process being followed, while admitting some frustration over the timing, which will further delay a final decision on the engine compression ratio.
"First, we don't have a clear decision today. It means that it's quite difficult because we have to send the engine to Melbourne in two days' time now. That is a challenge. But overall, we have to trust the system.
"We are convinced that we will find a solution between us. We have to follow the process of the governance of the Formula 1. It's a shame, it's more on the delay and the timing than something else."

Mercedes wave the white flag in heated engine row: 'Not worth the fight'

Toto Wolff decided not to turn the debate over Mercedes’ engine compression ratio into a major showdown.
Speaking in Bahrain, Wolff downplayed the controversy, describing it as an issue that had been blown out of proportion from the outset. He explained that Mercedes would have understood a stronger reaction had the proposed figures actually been approved, but stressed that the matter ultimately had no real impact on the team.
Whether the current framework remained in place or shifted towards revised regulations, he said, would not change anything significant for Mercedes, making a prolonged fight unnecessary.
