Ferrari recognise the importance of eSports

The world of eSports is an ever-growing one and Ferrari team principal, Mattia Binotto has acknowledged this. He admitted the importance of the growing industry has on the next generations.

Ferrari entered the world of eSport in 2019 and were immediately rewarded winning the Formula 1 title in their first season as David Tonizza topped the standings.

Binotto is aware of the importance gaming holds for the younger generation and was pleased that eSports is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

"This was the first year we participated," Binotto told the Formula 1 website.

"We recognize that it is a very important factor for the younger generations.

"We have been lucky enough to win the championship in the first season, but I think we had the right driver (David Tonizza, ed.). We are very happy with that.

"We understand the importance of gaming for the new generation, and eSports is part of our Ferrari Driver Academy program. It is not something that is completely separate, but part of it."
