Aston Martin Red Bull Racing are aiming to become the closest challengers to Mercedes during the 2020 Formula 1 season. After completing the winter tests, Helmet Marko is confident that Alex Albon and Max Verstappen can "fight for the win" in Melbourne.
"The car does what we had hoped for, as we hear from our technicians," Marko starts talking to the German RTL. “In fact, we are entering the season with a positive feeling. Our goal this year is to make Max Verstappen the youngest world champion." This is the last year that Verstappen has a chance to do so. If it fails, Sebastian Vettel will keep this title.
Marko admits that they often had the right car later in the season. "It is difficult to see in testing, but we are certainly better prepared than in recent years," Marko continues. "We were often in Barcelona and competitive, I believe we can fight with Mercedes in Australia for the win."
The Austrian is pretty sure of his case. The new RB16 must become the championship car of Max Verstappen. The team also wants to fight for the constructors, so it is Alexander Albon 's job to also collect podiums and victories.
