Helmut Marko is anything but happy after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing advisor saw Max Verstappen on course for victory on the Jeddah circuit, but after a chaotic final stage, all that remained was second place. The Austrian team will not leave it at that, according to Marko.
Marko tells German television that Red Bull 'does not accept' this result and that the engineers are checking the data from the collision with Hamilton because Max braked as he did in all the other laps. "Lewis didn't realise that Max wanted to pass him. After the collision, Max's rear tyres were damaged and he never got the performance he wanted."
Marko additionally argues that Red Bull do not understand why Hamilton was not penalised when he pushed Max off the track at Turn 27. At the Milton Keynes-based racing team, they are also further satisfied with a number of decisions made this Sunday night. According to Marko, the last word has not been spoken yet.
Verstappen has to report to the stewards in Saudi Arabia in any case. The Dutchman has to explain the incident with Hamilton.
