Helmut Marko believes the Monaco Grand Prix will benefit Ferrari far more than Red Bull Racing. The 80-year-old Marko, in an interview with Oe24, rebranded Charles Leclerc as a big favourite. After all, the Monegasque Ferrari driver grew up here and knows how this circuit works.
"Logically, everything speaks for Ferrari. They are better than us in the slow corners, they warm up the tyres faster, which plays a crucial role in qualifying. We all know how important pole is here," said the Austrian Red Bull advisor.
Marko: 'Leclerc the favourite'
Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, as so often this season, have been named as the two big favourites for race wins. Marko, however, thinks otherwise.
"I think Ferrari has the advantage this time. Leclerc is the big favourite. He grew up here, he loves this circuit and he has proved how fast he can be on this lap with fastest times in qualifying in the last two years."
