Helmut Marko analyzed Red Bull’s Friday in Singapore, with Max Verstappen finishing the day with the third-fastest time. "It was certainly our best Friday in a long time here in Singapore"
- Helmut Marko"It was certainly our best Friday in a long time here in Singapore," the Austrian advisor told Sky Deutschland at the end of FP2.
Marko believes Red Bull are competitive enough to be in the fight, but stressed that it will be crucial to find something more to take another step forward.
"I think we're very close, but it will ultimately be crucial to find out the last hundredths. We still have some small problems, but in general Max and the engineers are happy with the car.
"Due to the red flag, we couldn't do a long run, but from what I observed, the others couldn't either. But still, I think we're relatively close."
A positive Friday for Red Bull in Singapore
The first session saw the four-time world champion finish third, behind Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari and an impressive Fernando Alonso, who confirmed the strong competitiveness of Aston Martin again in FP2.
In the evening, as temperatures dropped and night settled over Marina Bay, the Dutchman once more ended the day in third place—this time behind Isack Hadjar, who put his RB into second, unlike his teammate who ended up in the wall. Oscar Piastri led the way, bringing McLaren back to the top.
