An exceptional qualifying performance earns Charles Leclerc second place on the grid for the Austrian Grand Prix, with the Monegasque set to start alongside Lando Norris in tomorrow’s race.
After struggling for most of the season so far, Ferrari can finally smile thanks to an excellent Charles Leclerc, who secured a front-row start following his second-place finish at his home Grand Prix in Monaco a few weeks ago.
Once again, lining up alongside him will be Lando Norris, who has delivered an exceptional weekend so far, topped off with a stunning pole position — a full half-second clear of the rest of the field.

An impressive lap from Leclerc

Speaking about his immediate feelings after qualifying, the Monegasque driver expressed great satisfaction with the strong result: ''I'm very pleased. I mean it's been a long time since... I think it was Monaco the last time we started on the front row and it's been a difficult season overall''.
''But the team have kept pushing, we've brought some new parts this weekend which for sure made a difference because if you look at the gaps everybody's super close so it's also thanks to the team but I'm very happy with the lap overall, yeah''.
''It's a good start to the weekend, we know that we have a better car normally in the race than we do in qualifying. So I hope that we can put a bit more pressure on the McLaren tomorrow.
When asked about the half-second gap to Norris and whether he could have imagined such a lap, number 16 finally concluded: ''Not with our car yet, but we are going to work towards that. But it's not to minimize Lando's job, obviously. He must have done an incredible lap''.
''I haven't seen it because I just got out of the car, but I'll definitely look at it. Congrats to him, he deserves it. And tomorrow we'll try and bring him a tough time''.
