"So after a very difficult weekend in Baku. I thought it couldn't get any worse, but..." Leclerc began in an Instagram story after the race, before flipping the camera over to show his former teammate, Carlos Sainz.
"We’re driving a van!" the Williams driver exclaimed as the two were laughing.

"Where are we Carlos?" Leclerc continued, to which Sainz explained: "In the middle of Italy."
"We were diverted for a storm. We couldn't land in Nice. So we landed in the middle of Italy. We rented a van and now we are going to Monaco," the Spaniard continued.
Sainz then also added: "Two-hour drive, but we will make it in one hour and a half."
Leclerc shouted "no" in response, to which Sainz said: "No, no, no, never."
In his recap, the Monegasque driver also posted a picture of the two sitting in the van.

Sainz celebrates first Williams podium in Baku

Starting from the first row of the grid, the Spanish driver finished third behind Max Verstappen and George Russell.
After the session, Sainz said: "I think life has taught me many times that this sometimes happens — that you have a run of misfortune or bad performances, but then suddenly life gives you back if you keep working hard with something really sweet like this."

Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc finished ninth, being stuck behind Liam Lawson's Racing Bulls for plenty of laps.
At the end of the race, Ferrari also could not execute its team orders. Despite Lewis Hamilton slowing down on the final straight, the Monegasque driver crossed the finish line four tenths behind.
About the incident, Leclerc said in Baku: "There are rules that we know we've got to work with. And today maybe those rules were not respected."
