The performance of Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull Racing's seems to be improving continuously. Max Verstappen's teammate seems to be getting closer to the Dutchman, as former Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen observes. After the
Hungarian Grand Prix, where Tsunoda couldn't really make a significant impact, he did mention that the Japanese is getting closer to Verstappen.
The gap appears to be shrinking, Kristensen also noticed: ''I think that's well done on that. At the beginning of the season he was 20th, Max Verstappen before him at the front and now actually he finished right in front of max, so yes he is back in the Red Bull limelight.''
Tsunoda addressed the media after the race at the Hungaroring, where
GPblog was also present, and discussed the current gap with Verstappen:
''To be honest, after the package was introduced for me, I’m much closer to Max. You can see on paper, in the short run especially, it's quite clear that I'm closing the gap to Max." “Yesterday was probably one of the closest gaps in the four years, which I think the team was proud of. And I think I can be proud of doing that. So I just keep what I'm doing.”

Verstappen faster in a Racing Bulls car?
Finally, Kristensen was asked if Verstappen would be faster in a Racing Bulls car, something Zak Brown had claimed before the British Grand Prix, suggesting that the Dutchman would be quicker in the car of Liam Lawson or Isack Hadjar. Kristensen refrained from making a judgment.
He explains that there is someone else who has more knowledge on the matter: ''There's only one man to know, and that's Laurent Mekies.''
