Despite his crash in FP2, Liam Lawson is optimistic about the rest of the Singapore weekend.
"I just tried to carry the speed, and right at the last minute lost it and hit the wall. It's a shame, I think overall the car is very fast."

Lawson caused the second red flag in FP2. The New Zealander hit the wall in the penultimate corner, and had to stop at the pit lane entry due to the damage.
Speaking to F1 TV after the session, the Racing Bulls driver explained things began to go wrong in the chicane where George Russell had crashed earlier.
"I got a little bit too much kerb in [Turn] 16 and bounced me across to the left and then I took too much kerb in [Turn] 17 and then just tried to carry the speed, and right at the last minute lost it and hit the wall."
Despite the incident, Lawson is positive about the step Racing Bulls could make in FP2.
"It's a shame, I think overall the car is very fast. We had a difficult FP1. I tried some things and have reversed it, and it felt a lot better in FP2.
"Felt a lot more comfortable up until that point. It's frustrating to end the session on the wall, but up to that point it was strong. And at least short run pace at the moment looks quite good."

Meanwhile, his teammate, Isack Hadjar finished second, only behind Oscar Piastri in the second practice session of the day.
"I think [the genuine pace] is very strong. We don't know what the others are doing. We're very happy with where the car's at, but obviously we have to keep chasing it because it's very, very close.
"So we'll make some more changes overnight, and fine tune it. I'll learn from obviously what happened today, and we'll try to put it together for tomorrow."

Can Racing Bulls surprise in Singapore?

After a positive Friday, the Faenza-based team and Aston Martin both seem to be in the fight for some good points this weekend.
