Lawrence Stroll: 'I can give us the resources we need to win'

With four podium finishes including one victory, 2020 was an excellent year for Racing Point, which will rebrand as Aston Martin Racing from 2021. Owner Lawrence Stroll is targeting even more success in the years to come.

Lawrence Stroll is very ambitious with Aston Martin Racing. The Canadian billionaire has only one goal in mind. "We're here to win, that's why I'm here, that's why we're all here, but I have the opportunity to give us the resources we need to win," Stroll said on Soy Motor.

Stroll looks back on the 2020 season with satisfaction. "We have achieved a number of podiums and a victory. I would like us to be on the podium a few more times this year and have one or two more wins, to fight for more and more wins step by step."

However, Stroll was also aware that he is not going to achieve his goal just like that. "In Formula 1, it takes years to be successful, it's not something that happens overnight, but it doesn't build a business overnight either. It will be the same. I want to pick up where we left off last year, only stronger," said Stroll senior.

Someone who will also be hoping to take the team a step further is Sebastian Vettel. "One of the ways to become a champion is to think and act like a world champion. You do that by bringing a quadruple world champion into the team. He's going to take the team in the right direction and take us to where we want to be," concluded Stroll.
