Former F1 driver Jos Verstappen insists his son can win the Monaco Grand Prix in just under 2 weeks time. Max appeared on the podium for the first time this season on Sunday, signalling that the Red Bull is improving.
The Red Bull driver has experienced a difficult start to the 2018 season and Sunday wasn’t without the usual drama. But his father warns the third-place finish is just the start.
“I understand that everyone likes the podium, but we want more,” Jos Verstappen told Ziggo Sport.
“If he’s on the front row, Max can win every time. Because of those front wings, it’s just incredibly hard to overtake.
“We just want to win. That’s why I’m looking at Monaco.”

Red Bull is known for being faster in the slow corners and that is exactly what Monaco will give the drivers.
So far this season, Verstappen has failed to qualify above 4th place.
