The new era of Formula 1 is here: this is how the international media reacted to the first race of the season in Australia!

MARCA - Spain

"This is the new Formula 1... the fun is back. The most uncertain era in the history of the premier category opened with a Grand Prix to remember. Battles, problems, and strategic wars converged. While it may not have the mystique of the '80s or '90s, it is an F1 that promises to thrill," the Spanish newspaper wrote amid the drivers' criticism of the new generation of Formula 1 cars.

La Gazzetta dello Sport - Italy

In Italy, the mood was positive after the first race of the season. Both Kimi Antonelli and Ferrari finished on the podium.
"A dominant Mercedes, a solid Ferrari, and a new set of regulations that certainly delivered action on track and also shuffled the competitive order," the Italian newspaper writes.
"The Italian driver then fought his way back thanks to a W17 that proved to be the best single-seater in the field. However, Ferrari managed to make its life more difficult, and that is good news for the Italian fans."

The German newspaper was also fascinated by the battle between Charles Leclerc and George Russell in Melbourne.
They wrote: "The lead goes back and forth between the Monegasque and the Brit, changing hands several times. New rules, new excitement!"

Krone Zeitung - Austria

The Austrian newspaper saw Mercedes clearly outperformed everybody, as only a single team could keep up with the Germans.
"Mercedes secured a dominant one-two finish at the start of Formula 1’s new regulatory era.
"Leclerc, with Hamilton close behind, set similar lap times to Mercedes in the closing stages, but the rest of the field was already far behind the two top teams. Norris finished 51 seconds behind, Verstappen 54. All the other drivers were lapped," they conclude.
