McLaren had a quiet Friday practice ahead of the
Turkish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris finished sixth whilst his teammate
Daniel Ricciardo finished 14th. After two back-to-back races of impressive pace, it looks like
McLaren are heading back to the midfield for the
Turkish Grand Prix.
Better than the position suggested
Ricciardo won the
Italian Grand Prix and narrowly missed out on the podium in Russia after last-minute rain helped him move up the field. Though in Turkey the Australian disappointed with a P14 finish in FP2. The Istanbul circuit holds much more grip compared to last year after the asphalt was washed vigorously.
"I feel better than the position that I ended (P14). It's a completely different track to last year. It's a nice track with more grip. I know what needs to be done on the set-up," Ricciardo told Sky Sports.
Lando Norris
After suffering major heartbreak in the
Russian Grand Prix, Norris is looking to bounce back this weekend. He also alludes to the increased lap times as a result of the grip levels.
"A good day but a couple of mistakes that is what Friday's are for. We tried some things in prep for tomorrow. Nothing special today. Five or six seconds quicker than last year and feels different," Norris added.
