Red Bull are coming for McLaren, Horner: "Bahrain was the outlier"

Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing's team principal, looks to the Miami Grand Prix, unfazed by potentially high temperatures and sees the Austrians had McLaren beat in 'hot' Jeddah race.
Horner highlights Red Bull's pace and points to updates
Speaking to media after the F1 race in Jeddah, including GPblog, Horner takes a holistic view of the triple header and emphasises the RB21's pace as he looks to the upcoming race in Miami.
"If you look at this triple header on a whole, we've had two pole positions. The first and the second, Bahrain was the outlier that we were out the window. And we know there's areas of the car that we need to improve and we're working very hard to address some of those."
"So I think, of course, everybody's super disappointed in the outcome of the race today and it felt like a race that we had McLaren beat, but it is what it is we have to say congrats to Oscar and we'll take the positives out of the weekend and focus on Miami."

Red Bull 'had McLaren beat' in conditions similar to when they looked set to 'lap the field'
Red Bull Racing's pace has tended to disappear when the hot temperatures set in, causing their high tyre degradation to surface, however, Horner dismisses tyre related concers ahead of a potentially hot Miami Grand Prix given that McLaren's ominous pace in FP2 was also displayed in similar conditions to that of the race in Jeddah.
"It wasn't that cold in the race [in Jeddah]. So their pace in [F]P2 was epic as well, which is in the same conditions. So whatever they did on Friday didn't replicate in the race. So we don't know what programs and fuel loads and engine modes others are running. But certainly on Friday evening it looked like they were going to lap the field. And arguably, we had them covered today."
