In the Up To Speed podcast, Coulthard revealed why that was the case. He said: "Hamilton's mom was on the flight back. I was talking to her this morning coming off the plane.
"I was asking have you got far to go? All that kind of usual stuff. And she said, 'Well actually, I could have flown back with some of the drivers, but I've had enough of the kids.'
"So I thought that was great, She'd been like two or three weeks traveling with Lewis around, and although he is 41, he's forever going to be your kid. So she's now back into a bit of peace and quiet."
