TV channel turns Verstappen's criticism into reality with Mario Kart trailer

Over the course of the Australian and Chinese Grands Prix, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez all referred to certain aspects of the racing with current F1 cars by comparing it to the famous video game, Mario Kart.

The Dutchman said in his criticism of the new regulations: "It's not fun at all, no. It's playing Mario Kart. This is not racing. (...) Look at the racing, you are boosting past and then you run out of battery the next straight, they boost past you again. For me it's just a joke."

Canal+ was inspired by the drivers' verdict, and made Mario Kart their theme for the Japanese Grand Prix. What makes this extra special is that, of course, Mario Kart was released by Japanese brand Nintendo.
