The
Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was one for
Honda to quickly forget after failures for
Pierre Gasly and
Max Verstappen. However, the Japanese are ready for battle in Turkey, where a podium has to be attainable again.
In
Imola it was not allowed to be so for the Red Bull drivers.
Max Verstappen retired with a blowout and
Alexander Albon threw away a good result with a spin. At AlphaTauri Gasly dropped out with an engine problem, but
Daniil Kvyat scored some points with a great fourth place.
Honda hopes to do better this weekend.
Honda wants to go to the podium again
''Apart from Daniil Kvyat’s fourth place in Imola, the result of the last race was disappointing for us. However, in recent races, both our teams performed competitively therefore our goal for this weekend is to convert our good pace and momentum into equally good results for all four cars," said
Toyoharu Tanabe in
the preview of Honda.
''Of course, this will be the first F1 event in the hybrid era, so once again our simulation work carried out prior to coming here will be very important and we will be able to correlate it with actual track data during Friday’s free practice sessions, as we return to a normal three day weekend after the two-day experiment at the last round," concludes the Honda top man.
