Helmut Marko doubts that the Brazilian Grand Prix will take place this afternoon amid the "very bad conditions" in Sao Paulo. Five drivers are waiting to see if they will be able to participate in the race after crashing in qualifying, with Franco Colapinto, Alex Albon, Lance Stroll, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz all waiting to see if their car will be repaired on time.
The Red Bull consultant was also questioning the decision about qualifying taking place at Interlagos: "Five cars had accidents, some of them serious. I don't know if that was the right decision, but it is what it is. And now we just have to see what we can do with the situation," Marko told Servus TV.
"I think the qualifying took place in very bad conditions," the Austrian stressed, who said he was not sure if there would be any driving later under these conditions. If racing does take place, Max Verstappen will start from P17 on the grid after the Dutchman was just in the wrong place at the wrong time before a red flag went out, meaning he could not improve on his lap time. Lando Norris, on the other hand, was able to take pole position right at the front of the grid.

'Ocon was in Verstappen's way in Q3'

On Verstappen's early exit in qualifying, Marko angrily said, "We had a car fast enough to be at the front. First Ocon was in the way and then stopping after that crash."
