Qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix is officially set to resume at 16:26 local time, following encouraging feedback from safety car driver Bernd Mayländer after another inspection of the Interlagos circuit.
The session was suspended following a red flag in Q1, with standing water raising serious concerns about the risk of aquaplaning.
Earlier inspections produced negative assessments, particularly around Turns 2 and 3 and the section between Turns 4 and 5, where marshals worked to clear water from the track.
However, the latest inspection by Mayländer brought more encouraging news, with the safety car driver reporting an improvement in conditions compared to his previous outings.
Race control initially expressed optimism about resuming the session, before officially confirming the restart time of 16:26 local time.
