Lewis Hamilton has provided an updated perspective on his view of Italy as he continues to settle in with Ferrari. The 105-time Grand Prix winner previously admitted that life at Ferrari would be very different to that of Mercedes. After six Grands Prix, Hamilton can safely say that he loves Italian culture despite any notable results in races so far.

Hamilton reveals pizza and pasta kryptonite in Italy

When asked if he was enjoying life around Maranello, Hamilton stated: "Yeah, I love it. Trying to stay off the pizzas and the pasta, which I'm not doing very well with if I'm honest," Hamilton explained to media in Miami. "I was there last week and had like three pizzas in two days. I have my hookup – he keeps bringing me a pizza. I text him late after the day and I'm like, 'Hey, can I get a pizza?' He keeps bringing me one!"
The Brit's works Mercedes career spanned from 2013 to 2024, and is the longest partnership a driver and a team have had in F1 history. Therefore, Hamilton would doubtlessly face new challenges moving to Ferrari.

The seven-time world champion hasn't had the greatest start to live with the most iconic Formula 1 team. Hamilton has scored 41 points in the first six rounds, and his best two results this season have come from sprint races. The Brit won the Shanghai sprint race and finished in third place in the Miami sprint.
As Ferrari continues their attempts to improve, Hamilton is doing his best to continue to acclimatise to the Maranello way of life.
"But yeah, I really am enjoying it," he continued. "Not living in Italy currently, but spending more time is still something I really want to try and figure out how to do through the year."
Hamilton is still aiming to pick up more Italian, he admits. "My Italian is not really progressing, so I've probably got to throw myself more into the thick of it."
Overall, he's content to be working in Maranello, and despite the changes is working with a smile in Maranello. "Lots of changes, a huge amount of work has been going on from my first days there to adjust certain things, for example in the sim, and everyone’s been really responsive and massively supportive. So I’ve really appreciated it."
