Lewis Hamilton has revealed the issue that led to him not being able to fight the cars ahead at the Japanese GP. After the Safety Car was called out because of Oliver Bearman's crash, Hamilton found himself in second place. In the end, he crossed the finish line in sixth, the same position he started in.
After the
Japanese Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion discussed where he was struggling.

He said: "Pretty average weekend for me. I just struggled with power in the race for some reason, I was just down.
"Particularly I was defending the whole time, the guys all around me just seem to have more power today, so I need to try and understand why that is the case. Whether my engine's down or what, I need to understand it."
Similar to the past two Grands Prix, Hamilton had a wheel-to-wheel battle with his teammate Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque driver finished third today.
Hamilton added: "Not really a great battle, I mean even somehow Charles had more power than me today, so you know, same car, so I need to understand why that is. So he did a good job to get to third place, but yes, lacking power from somewhere."
He concluded about the matter: "I've generally enjoyed driving, so I just really got to try and understand. I had a really good stint of managing the tyres, but I just didn't have the pace to just keep up.
"It's never fun when you're just barely holding on to a pack. Then when I got the fresh tyres, I still couldn't, just power-wise, I just couldn't stay ahead of people, which was really confusing."
