Isack Hadjar has been informed by Red Bull about their plans for the Frenchman, while his current teammate Liam Lawson (still) doesn’t know what will happen in 2026. The New Zealander would have preferred it to be different.
A very upbeat Hadjar looks to be promoted to Red Bull Racing, where he would become Max Verstappen's teammate. Liam Lawson has already done that once (for a brief moment). The New Zealander hasn’t been thinking at all about a return to Red Bull Racing during the recent weeks; he hopes to extend his career in Formula 1.
After the Qatar Grand Prix, Red Bull will announce which drivers will race for Racing Bulls in 2026. It seems a certainty that Arvid Lindblad will be promoted from Formula 2. Who will drive the second car for the Faenza-based team is more uncertain.

Lawson longs for clarity

Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson are the candidates for the remaining seat, with the latter reportedly being in pole position for the spot. Whether that’s really the case is unclear — even to Lawson. “I don’t know. I wish I knew,” Lawson responded in Qatar to questions about his future from, among others, GPblog.
The New Zealander believes, in any case, that he has done enough to convince Red Bull to give him another chance in the sport.
He said: “Yes, I mean obviously we all back ourselves. I think in the good moments this year we've been very, very strong.”
"Obviously there's always things in hindsight you look back on, and always things you can do better. So there's races this year that I would have obviously done things differently, but I think honestly overall I'm pretty happy."
