Antonio Giovinazzi is confident he can secure his first points of the season for Alfa Romeo this weekend in Spain, following his poor start to the season which has seen him beaten by his teammate in virtually every race.
Giovinazzi has finished every race this season but has struggled to compete for points, with his best finish being at the second race in Bahrain where he finished 11th. However, things started to look up for him in Baku as he put in a respectable shift in qualifying before finishing eleventh.
In an interview on FormulaPassion.it the Italian spoke about his tough start but how things started to look up in Baku.
"After losing the PL2 in Bahrain and the PL1 in China, I couldn't believe it when I saw a new red flag in Baku,” Giovinazzi said.
“I joked that the free practice didn't do it for me and that I should present myself directly on Saturday.

“But don't worry, I'm looking forward to being in the car on Friday too.
“The excellent qualification in Baku, with the eighth place, was exactly what I needed and now it will serve to be strong and consistent over the whole weekend.
“If there are no setbacks with the car, I'm sure I can go for points in Barcelona for the first time.”
